ISLAMABAD: Election campaigning is supposed to end today in accordance with section 182 of the Election Act of 2017.
No political party or independent candidate is supposed to engage in any sort of campaigning post midnight. Moreover, print and electronic media are also supposed to comply with the instructions issued by the Election Commission and not advertise any political party or independent candidate.
All parties have reportedly prepared their power shows to mark a momentous end to campaigning. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif is to address rallies in Rawalpindi and Dera Ismail Khan while his son Hamza Shahbaz is to lead the Lahore rally from Mochi gate to Data Darbar.
The Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf (PTI) chairman will end his much disappointing round of campaigning in Punjab in the province’s capital and is expected to address rallies in NA 125, 128, 131 and 134.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman, Bilawal Bhutto is dedicating his last round of campaigning to Jacobabad and Shikarpur. On the other hand, the Mutahidda Majlis e Amal leaders Maulana Fazal ur Rehaman and Siraj ul Haq will address their workers in the capital.
Lastly, the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) will host their final rally in Liaqatabad, Karachi.
