ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that India attempted to divert world attention from Kashmir issue by staging Uri attack and false claim of surgical strikes against Pakistan.
Speaking in a TV programme he said that there were differences of opinion in India regarding Uri attack as they failed to prove anything against Pakistan. He said that India had been violating human rights in Occupied Kashmir and its atrocities on innocent Kashmiri people were increasing.
The minister said that freedom movement by the Kashmiri people got momentum after the martyrdom of Burhan Wani. He said that India could not handle the situation after Wani’s martyrdom and now escalating tensions with Pakistan to divert the attention of international community.
Asif said that the government would stand by its commitment of supporting the indigenous movement of Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif forcefully pleaded Kashmir issue in his address at the United Nations.
